Strong label scores

A few of the foods that rise to the top.

These are label-based grades, not veterinary recommendations. Every card tells you why the food scored well so you can decide what matters for your dog.

How BowlGrade works

No mystery stars. Just a score you can understand.

We turn the label into one useful answer, while keeping every source and calculation close enough to check.

  1. 1

    We read the label

Nutrition, calories, ingredients, and the AAFCO statement—captured from the maker.

  2. 2

    We make it comparable

Dry, fresh, and wet foods are put on the same footing before we grade them.

  3. 3

    We show our reasoning

Every point is broken down, and missing information stays visibly missing.

One label trick worth knowing

Why 8% protein can be closer to 30% than it looks.

Wet and fresh foods carry far more water than kibble, so the percentages printed on the pack are not directly comparable. We remove the water mathematically before comparing any food.

Dry food 11% water on average
Fresh food 74% water on average
